Ballet Associates Programme Leicester

The Graham Fletcher Ballet Associate Programme

Classical ballet training takes a brand new direction in the Midlands with the launch of The Graham Fletcher Ballet Associate Programme. This is aimed at nurturing boy and girl ballet students in pursuit of excellence, encouraging them to reach their full potential and work with other talented students selected for the programme.

Dedicated and Professional Dance Teachers

Graham Fletcher was himself a Principal Dancer with The Royal Ballet Company and is a highly accomplished teacher, director and choreographer with extensive experience teaching at the Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Balletís renowned outreach and Associate dance programmes. A significant number of Graham's pupils have gone on to secure places with prestigious UK dance schools including the Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst Ballet School, Arts Educational School Tring, The Rambert School.

Graham says 'I have wanted to create a ballet training programme of this level in the Midlands for a long time, and my chosen venue in central Leicester is the perfect place. There are a number of young and aspiring dancers who live in the surrounding region but there does not seem to be the same opportunity to study ballet at this level compared to elsewhere, so my new programme will certainly bridge that gapí

Ballet Training Programme

Grahamís new Associate level ballet training programme is designed to give students a greater insight into the life, challenges and achievements of vocational training and a career as a dancer. Regular monthly Associates classes will focus on classical ballet technique, virtuosity, pointe work/male variations, audition preparation, repertoire and strengthening, whilst additional weekend masterclasses will include a variety of ballet related workshops and activities, and will also welcome guest teachers. Graham Fletcher Ballet Associates is designed to run alongside any current dance training commitments so that students will continue to study with their regular dance teacher in addition to their Associate classes.

Our Ballet Associate Programme aims to:

  • promote full enjoyment of dance and music
  • encourage all pupils to develop or enhance existing skills and technical ability
  • inspire self confidence and discovery of individual pathways in dance
  • identify opportunities for children with natural dance ability
  • compliment existing ballet training with an an accomplished ballet dancer and teacher.
